Full Job Description

The Lighting Support Specialist will be responsible for the identification and development of energy / carbon reduction solutions within the customer estate environments that Mitie operates, by the identification of lighting and control

solutions. This work is anticipated to normally be up to RIBA stage 4, recognising that the development of proposals will require formal design support from the specialist Mitie business areas.

What we are looking for
-Maintain all team processes/procedures in accordance with company/contract needs.

-Conduct Desk top audits (DTA) to pre-select the most suitable target accounts to target an improvement strategy.

-Networking across new business channels and internal customer contacts you will manage and develop a strong sales pipeline funnel sales approach delivering against annual revenue and margin targets

-Negotiating with Business Owners/Directors/Finance/Procurement/Energy & Sustainability leads to maximise commercial terms and drive business value.

-Lead bids and build strong commercial and technical responses along with the internal function's sales support team. Take lead in bid/no bid, bid submission, customer presentations and negotiations

-Use the SalesForce CRM platform to update and manage the progression of activities from opportunity creation to close

-Final negotiation and handover to operations for delivery of services

-Develop and oversee the implementation of new cost saving or Energy opportunities (procedures/processes) where required.

-Provide support and assistance to other in-house service teams and team members, as necessary.

-Be responsible for ensuring that the highest levels of conduct are always achieved, delivery of savings, presentations, behaviours, report writing, achieving milestones and plans on time, accurate correct levels of detail. (Fit for purpose).

-Provide guidance and support to identify new areas of opportunity for business growth and energy saving - new Energy Conservation Measures through lighting innovations.

-Maintain an initiative-taking interest in the lighting industry and demonstrate this by being constantly aware of new products and techniques.

-Table new concepts/ideas/strategies/principles to your peers and the Management team.

-Be knowledgeable of the contractual terms surrounding our bids and the requirements allowed for energy reduction on specific contracts (T&Cs differ from contract to contract).

-Be able to maintain records and evidence to comply with audit /accreditations associated with energy performance contracts or similar internal client audits.

-Work collaboratively with others across all service teams to address issues and resolve client issues.

-Share best practice, engage, and support other energy team members become a strong collaborator.

-Be competent in preparing detailed site-specific solutions where the principles can be deployed across a larger estate. (Specifications/plans/timings, business cases, reports, project proposals etc.)

Mitie is seeing tremendous growth in developing and delivering integrated FM services where energy and carbon reduction is key across all net zero areas, including decarbonisation through lighting and lighting controls. This is an integral part of the FM delivery and directly supports customers to achieve their net zero objectives. We want to accelerate bringing this offer to all of our customers and we believe the next decade will be critical in our efforts towards addressing the climate emergency.

The Lighting Support Specialist will be part of our Energy and Decarbonisation Project Team working with our new and existing customer base. Together with our operational and specialist sales functions and our strategic account teams, the Lighting Support Specialist will develop lighting energy reduction related opportunities to accelerate progress towards our customers achieving their net zero objectives
