Full Job Description

To provide Wessex Water with an outstanding service and support experience in the use of our LIMS application, you will support, maintain, develop and administer this critical business system in line with departmental policy and best practice. You will be upholding this service will be underpinned by a methodical and organised approach to their work. They will ensure knowledge sharing through multiple means including appropriate and effective documentation. The department utilises ITIL best practice principles, and you will be expected to follow these processes to ensure excellent customer service. What you'll do TheLIMS Support Administrator will be responsible for providing expert technical support, development and guidance for LabWare LIMS to our internal and external customers. You will:

  • perform troubleshooting and system configuration while ensuring optimal system performance
  • provide first and second-line support for the LabWare LIMS application, addressing user queries and resolving technical issues promptly
  • troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to LabWare LIMS configurations, interfaces and integrations
  • perform system configuration, updates and maintenance to ensure the LIMS operates efficiently and effectively
  • implement system enhancements, development and modifications based on user requirements and industry best practices
  • create and maintain detailed documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedure (SOP) and troubleshooting guides
  • collaborate with project teams to support the implementation of LabWare LIMS projects
  • monitor system performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement
  • proactively recommend and implement process enhancements to optimise system usage, performance and laboratory workflows
  • ensure that the LIMS is compliant with relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards
  • participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support
  • keeping security at the forefront of all activities.

    The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of LabWare LIMS, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You will need experience within an application support team, working in an enterprise environment, ideally aligned with ITIL practice. We are looking for experience in:
  • Labware LIMS
  • MS SQL\Transact-SQL
  • Batch Manager
  • Folder Manager
  • LIMS Basic programming.
  • One or more of the following would be desirable:
  • Crystal Reports, XML or HTML
  • laboratory experience
  • database understanding
  • Labware Certification
  • Visual Workflows
  • instrument integration with Labware LIMS
  • the use of LabStation/parsing scripts.
  • You will have excellent team skills working in collaboration at a highly technical level with colleagues, IT partners and IT consultants, both on and off-site, as well as excellent communication skills to explain either verbally or in writing technical concepts, solutions and ideas to people at all levels. You will also possess the ability to work independently and with a high degree of autonomy to make decisions at the appropriate time, drawing on extensive experience and considering the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information.
