Full Job Description

We are now seeking to recruit a Senior Stage Technician to lead the stage department in our Linbury Theatre team, working with the Linbury Technical Manager to deliver safely and effectively all technical and practical aspects of the RBO`s work in the Linbury Theatre to the highest possible standard., Our Technical, Production and Costume Department plays a leading part in ensuring our performances are of the highest quality by delivering technical excellence for every performance, rehearsal, and event. We are now seeking to recruit a Senior Stage Technician to lead the stage department in our Linbury Theatre team, working with the Linbury Technical Manager to deliver safely and effectively all technical and practical aspects of the RBO`s work in the Linbury Theatre to the highest possible standard.

This role will suit a candidate who has strong communication skills and is able to work unsupervised, showing initiative in dealing with day-to-day problems. You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • A proven track record in technical theatre with a producing organisation or venue.
  • Excellent technical skills in stage and automation with a thorough understanding of current equipment and systems in all key areas. Skills in other technical areas, including sound and lighting highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience in theatre staging to a high standard. Strong skills in scenic construction in both timber and metal. Strong ability in rigging in a range of formats and systems. Highly competent with power and hand tools.
  • Significant experience with automation systems. Tait Navigator or similar systems highly desirable.
  • Strong team leadership skills, including developing staff and their skills.
  • Good with administration, paperwork and documentation.
  • Confident user of AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks. Good overall confidence in standard office software and computer use.
