Full Job Description
Role Summary:The Linen Distribution Assistant will operate as part of the linen distribution team, ensuring the efficient delivery and management of linen and patient gowns throughout the hospital.,
- Team Collaboration:Work effectively within the linen distribution team.
- Linen Delivery:Deliver clean linen, patient gowns, and other items to wards and departments.
- Curtain Management:Play an integral role in planned curtain changes across all areas, adhering to Welsh National Guidelines.
- Stock Maintenance: Ensure linen stocks are maintained appropriately in all areas, preventing overstocking., Stock Management:
- Provide daily stock counts to the Laundry provider.
- Place special requests for additional items during infectious outbreaks or as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of linen dispatched and received. Linen Handling:
- Receive and store clean linen appropriately.
- Replenish linen trolleys and distribute to wards and departments according to schedule.
- Ensure stocks are maintained without overstocking. Distribution and Delivery:
- Deliver ad hoc orders as necessary.
- Push trolleys and cages across the hospital to distribute linen. Curtain Management:
- Undertake planned curtain changes in line with guidelines and infection prevention policies.
- Change curtains in patient areas as per schedule, using step ladders safely. Maintenance and Safety:
- Clean distribution trolleys daily.
- Ensure work areas are clean and safe, reporting any hazards.
- Adhere to manual handling procedures and use protective clothing as required.
- Check step ladders before use and report defects. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate paper and electronic records of linen and curtain changes.
- Assist with the annual linen count coordinated by the supervisor. Training and Compliance:
- Assist in training new staff members.
- Comply with all health and safety policies and departmental procedures. Flexibility:
- Weekend and Bank Holiday working may be required to meet service needs.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
