Full Job Description
Responsible to the Facilities Manager for the efficient and expedient operation of the Linen Service within the Trust.
To provide linen services and issue of uniform to staff, throughout the Trust, communicating with staff at all levels.

. Load stock into cages and prepare for transportation and ensure delivery process is followed.
. Prepare and deliver linen to wards & departments
. Ensure all wards & department's linen stores are kept clean and all linen is stored correctly.
. Ensure all stock levels are adhered on wards & departments & complete appropriate paperwork.
Prepare & place Linen order using agreed stock levels as guidance
Maintaining the general cleanliness within the Linen Department
. Prepare and place uniform orders as per agreed process.
. Completion & management of E -Roster, including annual leave and associated covering of duties., The effective supervision of all personnel associated with the Linen department operation.

. The provision of an effective, efficient and timely response to the following services:
. The measurement, ordering, receiving, storage and issue of uniform clothing.
Ensuring efficient and affective delivery of clean linen to all wards and clinics on a daily basis.
Ensuring sufficient quantities of scrubs for theatres and critical care areas.
. The introduction and maintenance of an efficient administrative system for the ordering, storage and provision of all supplies associated to Linen department .
. The promotion and maintenance of Health and Safety throughout the Linen department, ensuring that all practices comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
. The training and development of all staff associated to the Linen department and the maintenance of training records associated to those staff.
. The introduction and maintenance of a schedule that will ensure that the Linen department is free from hazards and operated in a clean and tidy fashion.
Comply with and promote all Health and Safety at Work practices as a result of legislation and Trust Policy and Procedures.
. To comply with all Security and Fire Procedures appertaining to the work place.
MANGEMENT LEADERSHIP
. Supporting the Facilities Operations Manager with the effective management of the Linen team. In the absence of the Facilities operations manager, the Linen department Supervisor will ensure the Linen services operates effectively and efficiently including representing the Manager at Trust meetings.. Carrying out staff PDR's.
. Complete weekly rotas allocating staff according to roles.

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care and has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients' homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man.
