Full Job Description

The successful applicant will have to plan, implement and evaluate literacy/numeracy interventions for pupils, reporting to the SENCO. This will be done with individual pupils or small groups. There may also be some group work complete within class groups., This is a challenging role and you must be able to cope with stressful interpersonal situations whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism.

  • To work with the SENCO to identify pupils in need of additional interventions
  • To plan, implement and evaluate interventions effectively with pupils. This may involve lone working on and off site
  • To advise and report to senior staff
  • To deliver training to staff and support initiatives to improve literacy across the school
  • Undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using appropriate IT
  • To keep up to date with the latest good practice in the field of interventions
  • To promote reading across the school
  • Participate in school wide activities as appropriate
  • To support out of classroom activities as part of a broad and varied curriculum.
