Full Job Description

Are you an experienced litigation lawyer looking for a new challenge? Join our Legal Services team at County Hall and make a significant impact in a variety of litigation matters. As a Litigation Lawyer, you will:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of litigated and pre-litigated cases, including personal injury, public liability, employers' liability, highways, data protection, and general litigation.
  • Provide expert legal advice to council services and senior management.
  • Handle Fast Track, Multi Track cases, DCP, and Claims Portal matters.
  • Draft legal documents, liaise with counsel, and prepare witness evidence.
  • Conduct case management conferences and preliminary hearings.

    Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, or equivalent with a current practising certificate.
  • Extensive experience in litigation and knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and MOJ portal claims.
  • Strong advocacy, analytical, and research skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Whilst not essential, our ideal applicant would have experience working within or advising Local government with a focus on Children's and Adult Service's claims.
