WHAT TO EXPECT Working as part of the Legal and Compliance in-house legal team, the litigation team play a critical role in defending JLR against matters brought by third parties. This is a critical, exciting and challenging role requiring an enthusiastic Solicitor to support with key decisions about legal risks which affect the business and providing instructions on ongoing commercial litigation matters around the globe. You'll become a trusted adviser to the JLR business and able to provide quick and commercial legal advice as well as being the intermediary between external counsel and the business on commercial litigation matters in order to provide the support required for external counsel and the internal business. This role will provide you with a real opportunity to work with a cross-functional team and litigation of a truly international nature. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Advising on and managing many global commercial litigation matters of high value and complexity
  • Ability to gather or oversee the gathering of evidence and ensure JLR is meeting any obligations or requirements on it as part of any pending or ongoing litigation
  • Instructing and ensuring delivery of external legal counsel globally and managing associated budgets
  • Negotiate and influence senior management and other stakeholders where appropriate in any decision making arising from the litigation
  • Apply working knowledge of key legal practices and principles for the UK, EU and globally where required

    Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
  • Demonstrable experience of both management of commercial litigation cases, litigation drafting and dispute resolution
  • High commercial acumen with confidence to challenge and question where needed
  • Ability to quickly analyse and assimilate legal advice covering multiple jurisdictions, consider impact to business and provide succinct, creative and pragmatic solutions and advice
