Full Job Description

a Clinical Supervisor and e-portfolio. Whilst working in these posts the successful candidates will have the opportunity to: Build upon undergraduate education. Gain experience and familiarity in dealing with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions and the management of co-existing medical issues in medical and surgical patients. Develop the skills of history taking, physical examination, appropriate investigation and rational prescribing. Full clinical supervision is provided to permit completion of competencies. Assessment of acutely unwell patients Assessment and reassessment of elective and emergency patients to ensure they progress through the process of investigation, diagnosis and treatment Discharge planning Time and Risk management Communication with patients, family members and carers Theatre attendance where permitted by adequate ward cover. Barnsley Hospital serves and provides care to a population of 230,000 and employs around 3,500 people. The Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services. It has an emergency department with a dedicated childrens emergency department with integrated childrens assessment unit, co-located SDEC Medical and SDEC Surgical facilities and provides acute medical and surgical services, including intensive care services, to the population and visitors to the Barnsley and South Yorkshire area. We have an extensive learning and development programme and a fully equipped Education Centre. Within the Education Centre is a widely stocked library and resource centre, lecture theatres, a clinical skills training room, a resuscitation and manual handling training room, meeting rooms, classrooms, IT suites and a video conference room for Cancer Services.
