Full Job Description

The General Surgery Department at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton has a exciting opportunity for an LED F2 or Junior Clinical Fellow (CT equivalent) in General & Vascular Surgery to join the department for 4 months from December 2024 and 3 months from January 2025. The General Surgery Department is very busy with high throughput of both elective and emergency patients. Successful candidates can gain experience in UGI and/or vascular surgery, will be expected to support the team with ward rounds, as well as gaining experience in theatre and be part of the General Surgery F2/CT emergency rota.. Whilst it is not a recognised training post, this post is well supervised and there are opportunities to learn and develop skills., Based at the Royal Derby Hospital the department provides a full range of inpatient elective & non-elective operating services, outpatient clinics & day case sessions., The elective work involves daily ward rounds, time-tabled sessions for day case, theatre and outpatient clinics. Whilst it is not a recognised training post, this post is well supervised and there are opportunities to learn and develop skills.

Applicants should have completed foundation training and ideally have experience of working in breast surgery. Possession of the MBBS, plus full GMC registration with Licence to Practice at the time of application is essential.
