Full Job Description

The appointed consultant will provide overall clinical responsibility for the inpatient assessment, care and treatment of adults on Avalon ward. As such, this post holder will need to be able to support effective team functioning and will also be required to work with a part-time Consultant colleague, the team and the directorate, in service development initiatives. The aim of this post is to ensure the team delivers a high quality and innovative service, to develop new treatment ideas in keeping with current evidence, to continually evaluate the treatment and to work nationally towards improvement of services for patients with eating disorders. The appointed Consultant will have ample opportunities to engage in work and initiatives within South London Provider Collaborative and in training opportunities, as well as in teaching of students and trainees., The post-holder will provide medical leadership to the in-patient MDT and will work closely with the Ward Manager to ensure a safe, efficient and effective service that meets the Trust's Key Performance Indicators.
