Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist to join our existing site-specialist multidisciplinary teams in the fields of Head & Neck and Skin cancers. This is a part-time position (5 PAs) for a fixed-term contract of 4 months. The post is based at St Bartholomew's Hospital. The successful candidate will join a well-established clinical oncology team and play a key role in developing cancer services across the Trust. The posts offer an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and welcoming consultant team, and to develop new models of care/services that support the people in north-east London and beyond, The post holder will work with Dr Melanie Powell to provide the Head and Neck Oncology service for patients in North East London.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· The Head and Neck cancer service largely covers the East Sector of London and its environs. Surgical treatment is centralised to University College Hospital where 6 specialist Head and Neck Surgeons operate offering state of the art techniques including robotic surgery.
· Patients with Head and Neck cancer are referred from Newham, Whipps Cross, Homerton and the Royal London Hospital. There is a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting and Queens Hospital participate in this MDT. There are plans to create a united single Head and Neck MDT with UCLH.
· Non-surgical treatment is carried out at St Bartholomew's Hospital for patients from Newham, Whipps Cross and Homerton Hospital and at Queens Hospital for patients based in Romford.
· The post holder will work with Dr Melanie Powell to provide the Head and Neck Oncology service for patients in North East London.
