This is a significant investment and an opportunity to enhance services for our populations in Calderdale and Huddersfield and West Yorkshire for generations to come. To find out more, please visit https://future.cht.nhs.uk, The Division of Medicine is looking to fill a vacancy within Acute/General Medicine and Nephrology/Renal in order to increase the consultant capacity within the acute medical team and deliver Renal outpatient activity. It is part-time based on a 5 PA contract.
The Trust is based on two Acute sites with Acute Medical services on each site. The Renal service is based across both site also with outpatient clinics being held in Acre Mill at the Huddersfield site and in the main outpatients are at the Calderdale site., The successful applicant will form part of our Acute Medical Consultant team, providing Acute services across the two Trust sites, Successful candidates will be expected to cover our two Acute Floors, Short Stay/outlying wards, Medical Same Day Emergency Care (MSDEC) unit and EDs (Admission Avoidance).
The Acute teams run the Acute Medical Units (AMUs) with a total bed base of 106 (60 CRH, 46 HRI - including Frailty). These are planned as 'acute floors' incorporating both Acute assessment beds but also short stay beds. The Huddersfield 'floor' is shared with the Acute Frailty team who have ongoing responsibility for 22 patients. Successful candidates will be expected to cover Acute/Short Stay and outlying wards. There is a consultant led ward round of the AMUs each morning, followed by continual assessment on the AMUs until 8pm on most days of the week.

The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £42.90, Standard £22.90 or Basic £22.90) from your salary when you commence in post (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment.
