This exciting locum opportunity has arisen due to the need for additional cover for our current activities. It is offered on a full time (10 PA) basis, although this can be negotiated if requested.

Duties will be based primarily on our Wakefield (Pinderfields) site although many of our anaesthetic staff are also involved in delivering care to patients in Dewsbury and Pontefract Hospitals.

The Anaesthetic department currently consists of fifty Consultant Anaesthetists who provide Anaesthetic and Intensive Care services for a busy general hospital with all the major surgical specialties and a Major Burns centre.

Applicants should possess, or be within 6 months of receiving a CCT at the time of the advisory appointments committee, The main duties of the posts will include:

Elective Theatre lists: for a variety of different surgical specialties including general surgery, bariatrics, urology, gynaecology, orthopedics, plastic & burns surgery, ENT and maxillofacial

Anaesthetic services elsewhere in the hospital (e.g. for Adult and Paediatric Emergencies requiring anaesthetic support)

Urgent and emergency care duties, with schedules taking due account of the provisions of working time regulations and safe working.

Supporting Professional Activities in accordance with the Trust Framework, with at least a minimum of 1.5 SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable
