Full Job Description

The job description is a reflection of the current situation and will be reviewed regularly in discussion with the post-holder depending on the needs of the service in line with the Hospital/Institute and Unit's goals. The key roles of the post holder will be: o Providing radiological reports on conventional radiographs and CBCT imagingo Providing radiological support for MDT meetingso Work alongside radiography team to ensure high quality diagnostic imageso Work alongside dental team to provide radiological support as requiredo Participate in the training of staff, and to take an active role in teaching and audit.o Aid in the provision of salivary gland diagnostic imaging and salivary gland interventionso Support Head and Neck Radiology team in the undertaking of ultrasound examinations and tissue samplingo Support Head and Neck Radiology in providing reports for cross sectional radiological examinations if required (CT, MRI)o The post holder will also be encouraged and expected to take part in audit at both departmental and hospital level.o Participate in training of DCTs and Undergraduates when and if appropriate.

Professional Registration Essential

  • Full GDC Registration and License to Practice in the UK
  • CCST in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology/CCST within 6 months or equivalent, BDS or equivalent
  • DDMFR (RCR) or equivalent
  • Desirable
  • MFDS/MJDF or equivalent, Experience in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology including conventional radiography, CBCT, Ultrasound, Sialography
  • Experience in salivary gland interventions
  • Experience in image guided biopsy techniques
  • The ability to work/report independently
  • Desirable
  • Attendance at appropriate professional meetings and courses, Ability to provide reports for a range of Dental and Maxillofacial imaging studies including CBCT and conventional radiography
  • Ability to carry out ultrasound examination of the head and neck and tissue sampling techniques under ultrasound guidance
  • Ability to carry out salivary gland diagnostic imaging and salivary gland interventions

    We are seeking to appointment a Locum Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology to join the Royal London Dental Hospital on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a full-time position (10 PAs). The successful candidate will have experience in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology including conventional radiography, CBCT, Ultrasound and Sialography. The post-holder will be working with dental radiologists, medical radiologists and radiographers to support the delivery of the service.
