Full Job Description

The London North West Healthcare NHS Trust now seeks to recruit 1 WTE Consultant Dermatologist to join the dermatology team on a fixed term 12 months contract. This offers the opportunity to shape and develop the service which supports the population of North West London. The Trust is seeking full time Consultant but consideration would be given to part time applicants as a job share, or flexible working pattern. the Trust invites applications from dedicated, innovative individuals which will in turn provide you with a great opportunity for leadership to shape the service of the future. The primary goal of the 10 PA Full time post is to meet our increased demand in particular suspected cancer referrals and paediatric referrals and to ensure timely provision of advice and guidance. The 7 PAs post is dedicated to cover maternity leave from 15 December 2024 for 12 months. A sound knowledge, experience in and passion for general Dermatology is essential. We run the Specialist Skin Cancer MDT and you will become a core member of this group. There is dedicated Theatre and Minor Operation capacity. We also have available on site Plastics and Maxillio-Facial services. You will also participate in the teaching programmes for Medical Students, as well as providing senior support for middle grades/junior colleagues. The future plans include continued close working with Community and intermediate services to develop pathways of care such that patients have comprehensive choice, one stop services and access to care closer to home where this is clinically deliverable and possible. The service has recently been working very closely with the BAD to deliver service improvement. Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice and be on the Specialist Register in Dermatology (consideration will be given to applicants who are currently completing their CESR pathway).   • Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.
  • We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public. The post holders will be working across 3 site, providing senior clinical support and leadership to junior team. The successful candidates will be job planned for the length of their tenure to deliver programmed activities of which 80% are direct clinical ( DCC) and 20% are supporting Programmed (SPA) such as, clinical governance, revalidation, teaching and appraisal. New consultants will have access to mentoring services if needed. There are admin teams, consisting of patient pathway coordinators and booking coordinators and operational management team, supporting clinical team. New appointees will have adequate administrative support and office base at all three sites. The Trust is paperless and uses Cerner EPR for recording and accessing clinical documentation.
