Full Job Description

This is a 6 PA locum appointment for a Consultant Physician in Diabetes. This post will be available for a period of 6 months. This post will deliver 6 PAs supporting the Diabetes team. The post-holder will provide Diabetes Foot clinics and a diabetes foot ward rounds alongside Diabetes Clinics. The post will be based at St Jamess Hospital. OBJECTIVES OF THE POST To assist in the provision of multi-disciplinary out-patient services / clinics in Diabetes, ensuring we meet our objectives of a responsive, patient centred, and high quality service. To contribute to the development and modernisation of diabetes services with the aim of improving capacity and quality of services to both the local Leeds and regional populations. To contribute to research, teaching and new developments within the Diabetes Unit. The post holder will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programs on going in the department. To promote patient and public involvement into
the services provided by the Diabetes Centre, including involvement with local and national Diabetes patient support groups. To participate in the education, training, and supervision of staff of all grades and disciplines, including contributing to the design of programs and logistics of local and regional diabetes and endocrinology training meetings.
