Full Job Description

This is a locum consultant post. We are seeking a colleague with Paediatric ED expertise to work in our Paediatric ED as well as in the main ED Consultant rota. The remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients attending the Emergency Department in the Denmark Hill site. The individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff., The post will be based at Denmark Hill and the proposed 10 PA Job Plan is attached. This will be reviewed within 3 months of the post holder commencing in post.

The out of hours commitment is 1:9 for the ED rota made up of late shifts and weekends, including 1:23 on call. The on call component is classed as Category A. There is a commitment to undertake routine job planned work on Saturdays or Sundays as part of the total job planned PAs.

There are no specific leadership roles associated with these roles but the overall managerial portfolio of the team is regularly reviewed and the successful applicants can expect to be invited to apply for roles as part of the consultant team.
