Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Locum Consultant to join our award winning Diabetes and Endocrinology Team on a fixed term 6 month post.

Additional posts have come as part of the expansion of the medical workforce in preparation for the move to the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) and include opportunities to work in the inpatient bed base. This is an exciting time to join the Trust and the successful candidate will be supporting the opening of this brand new facility. The candidate will be expected to deliver care to a ward of 16 General Medical inpatients, some outliers as well as providing specialist advice in DM and Endo to other teams. They will support the think Glucose nurses and also the juniors working on the ward. Although the majority of weeks will be spent working in the acute setting, other weeks will feature a mix of SPA and clinic based work. Supporting and developing the DM and Endocrine service.

We have a broad MDT including nurses, dietetics, support workers and operational and administrative colleagues. We provide a number of specialist services across paediatrics, adults, antenatal, endocrinology., Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated careorganisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff.
