Full Job Description

You will be caring for a mix of medical and surgical patients, both elective and emergency admissions. This ward will have rapid patient turnover and stays should be less than 72 hours.

  • The successful candidate will be central to supporting the Ward Sister in ensuring all team members are fully supported through;
  • Setting and maintaining clinical standards
  • Completing regular audits
  • Overseeing Healthroster
  • Overseeing students and mentoring newly appointed staff members
  • Carrying out necessary people management tasks such as appraisals and supporting attendance
  • Extensive post-qualifying experience is essential. This is a fast paced environment with patient centred holistic care. The varied patient group require a highly skilled team of nurses who are adaptive, responsive and committed.

This is a fast paced environment with patient centred holistic care of acute surgical patients, which may include upper gastro-intestinal, colorectal, maxillo-facial, ear, nose and throat (ENT), trauma and orthopaedics, thoracic . This varied patient group require a highly skilled team of nurses who are adaptive, responsive and committed.
