Full Job Description

The Consultant Respiratory Physicians atNorth Manchester General Hospital provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide variety of respiratory conditions and symptoms.,

  • Working alongside other consultant colleagues, provide a quality service to the Trust with responsibility for the diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to respiratory services within both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • In conjunction with consultant colleagues, provide clinical leadership andcontribute to the vision and values of the service.
  • Professional Supervision and management of junior medical staff.
  • Participate in the weekly consultant Hot Week Rota for the respiratory ward and respond to respiratory referrals from an inpatient perspective.
  • Contribute with on-going service improvements.
  • Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis and treatment options using various methods to ensure practical understanding.
