Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and innovative team at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust. This post is fixed term, there will be a substantive replacement consultant PCI post in due course. The post holder will, in conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, provide PCI and general cardiology, and play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department and the 24/7 PCI on-call service., We are expanding our consultant body and are looking for an interventionist consultant cardiologist to work as part of our PCI team. We need someone who will work well within our existing team of PCI interventionists to enhance the existing service. You would be joining an enthusiastic team. The successful applicant will be part of a 1:17 week cardiology ward weekday on-call rota when normal activities are cancelled and a 1:10 PPCI rota. The PPCI rota includes 2 visiting consultants.

It is anticipated that an average of 10 - 12 patients would be seen by the post holder per clinic these would be a mixture of new and review cases. The post holder will take part in the cardiology ward cover and 1:17 weeks will spend a week based on the ward and on-call for ward patients. There are 43 beds on the cardiology ward.
