We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team.

Applications are invited for a consultant post in cardiology in the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals Trust. We are looking for a 12-month Locum Consultant Cardiologist post with an interest in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). The post will be mainly based at the Freeman Hospital. You will join a team of 13 interventional cardiologists (12 NHS and 1 PT academic interventional cardiologist). It is envisaged that the post-holder will contribute to the interventional service, including the full range of interventional techniques and provision of Primary PCI on-call cover. The post holder will be expected to work in close collaboration with the existing team of consultant cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and allied specialities.

The post attracts 10 Programmed Activities per week for approximately a 1 in 11 on-call for intervention at Freeman Hospital and 1:16 CCU at RVI/ Freeman Hospitals.

Candidates for the post must be registered medical practitioners and on, or eligible to join, the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Committee., We are advertising for a locum Consultant Cardiologist (10 PAs). This is a new post which will be working mainly at the Freeman Hospital Cardiothoracic Unit. The post-holder will have broad general cardiology skills with a special interest in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). There will be responsibilities to develop and contribute to continuing education, professional development, audit and research within the Division and the Trust. There is the expectation of collaborative working with colleagues, allied specialities and liaison with other disciplines throughout the trust and network.
