Full Job Description

To provide a Paediatric Ophthalmology service across outpatients and theatres including participation in the Consultant on-call which is supported by 1st and 2nd on-call.

The appointee will work with other members of the Ophthalmology team to provide a comprehensive Ophthalmology service to the Trust, Primary Care Trusts and General Practitioners.

Develop close collaborative links with clinicians working in his/her specialty and work to develop services provided to patients in these areas to the highest standards including the development of treatment protocols and guidelines.

Participate in the departmental audit programme as well as participating in multidisciplinary audit relating to their area of clinical interest.

Participate in regular clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities.Supervise trainees working in the Department and will assist in their training and appraisal

Participate in the Trust Performance and Annual review scheme and be responsible for ensuring that they support the principles of revalidation by the General Medical Council.

This exciting opportunity to joing the Ophthalmology Department for a Full Time and Part Time Locum Paediatric Ophthalmologist with a Special Interest Adult Strabismus here at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust.
