Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint to a Whole-Time Locum Consultant Otolaryngologist with an interest in General ENT and Otology/Neurotology employed by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a fixed term of 12 months. The post will be based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield., The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of general ENT services to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

On-call is currently provided by 7 Sheffield-based consultants Monday to Friday, with the 3 Barnsley consultants.

Appointments are made to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the person appointed is required to be sufficiently flexible to undertake their main clinical duties at any of the sites within the Trust and/or to change their base hospital.

The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.

ENT, Audiovestibular Medicine & Hearing Services are managed as a single directorate at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Directorate has particular expertise in the management of many sub specialty areas including Oncology, Otology/Neurotology, Rhinology, Aural Surgery and also works in partnership with colleagues in the Sheffield Children's Hospital to support paediatric ENT services.
