Full Job Description
This post is a part-time locum Consultant Paediatric Neurosurgery post based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. This post is to provide support to the Paediatric Neurosurgery team . The locum will join a team of 4 Paediatric Neurosurgeons. The Neurosurgeons provide comprehensive paediatric neurosurgical services to the South West of England serving a catchment population of approximately 5 million., We hope that you will decide to join us and become part of this exciting journey, helping us to shape our future together.

The post-holder will be expected to support the Paediatric Neurosurgery Team. The applicant should be trained in functional and robotic neurosurgery and be able to support the delivery of these services. The post-holder should have full training in general paediatric neurosurgery which would include a minimum 12 month fellowship in Paediatric Neurosurgery in a major centre in the UK or international centre of excellence., Person specificationQualifications and TrainingEssential criteriaFull and specialist (Neurosurgery) registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) orEligible for specialist registration within six months of interview orHolder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or evidence of within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interviewDesirable criteriaHigher academic qualificationExperienceEssential criteriaEvidence of thorough and broad training and experience in NeurosurgeryAble to take responsibility for delivering core service without direct supervisionDesirable criteriaEvidence of a special interest and expertise that complements those of other consultants in the department and is consistent with the Trust's service strategyClinical Knowledge and skillsEssential criteriaUp to date knowledge and experience of paediatric neurosurgeryKnowledge of NHS priorities with reference to paediatric neurosurgeryDesirable criteriaBroad range of IT
