Full Job Description

The post holders will be expected to take part in the delivery and development of clinical services within the
Trust's Service and Financial Framework and in line with the Trust's clinical strategy.
The post-holders will also be expected to participate in the activities of appropriate Departmental,
Directorate or Trust Committees and Working Groups as required.
The post holder will be based at Birmingham Children's Hospital. It is full time 10PA job; however, less
than full time is acceptable. The successful applicants would also be expected to participate in a 1:6 on-call
rota covering both the pediatric burns center Birmingham Children Hospital and the adult burns center at the
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
The appointee will join the burn surgery team and will have the opportunity to develop an interest in an area
of general plastic surgery and /or laser therapy, along with their commitment to the burns service. It would be expected that the major responsibilities of the posts are to the burns service (paediatric and adult if
appropriate). These posts would be suitable for candidates who have completed higher surgical training who
have a more specialist interest in the management of burns.
An honorary contract will be sought for the successful candidates, to allow regular sessions to be worked in
the Adult Burn Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
