Full Job Description

This is principally is an abdominal radiologist post involving cross sectional reporting, general ultrasound incorporating Core biopsy, insertion of drains as well as contribution to a regional Abdominal and Retroperitoneal Sarcoma MDT, including helping to support the biopsy service for this service. There will also be an acute CT imaging session at least one a week.

The successful candidate will also be expected to take an active part in the training of Specialist Registrars on their rotation through the department.

The Trust has successfully introduced radiographer and sonographer skill-mix in a number of areas including, I.V. contrast injections. Supervision of radiographer extended roles may be required., This is a full time post and incorporates 9 PAs of direct patient care based on a 10 PA contract. Flexibility in association with service needs will be required on a weekly basis in line with an annualised hours framework. The appointee will support clinical colleagues in offering a comprehensive imaging service for the trust and our patients. The timetable of activities will be agreed with the Clinical Director of Radiology before taking up the post. Sample timetables of activities are available on request.
