Full Job Description
PSSC, a registered charity (No. 298867), is a leader in translational cancer imaging. Established in 1985 and a provider of PET-CT scans since 1997, the Centre delivers cross-sectional imaging services for oncology patients and the wider community. It supports robust clinical and research imaging programs, backed by skilled and dedicated scanning teams. We offer numerous opportunities for career progression, including CPD, in-house training, and further study. Staff benefit from NHS contracts, with single accommodation available if needed. Newly qualified consultants can access the Trust's leadership mentoring program, with opportunities for other consultants to participate actively. As part of the selection process, candidates must complete a psychometric assessment to provide the panel with insights into behavioral strengths and potential derailers Main duties of the job The post holder will supervise and report investigations performed mainly cross-sectional imaging using CT and MRI and potentially a small PET/CT element. There are specialty leads for each modality in place. The post also provides the opportunity to develop research projects in the Centre. Perform or interpret the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT) and possibly positron emission tomography (PET). Document the performance, interpretation, or outcomes of all procedures performed. Interpret images using computer-aided detection or diagnosis systems and prepare and present comprehensive interpretive reports of findings. Communicate examination results or diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, or families.,

- Experience working in acute/emergency/urgent care with children and young people

- Evidence of previous experience and efficacy in mentorship teaching and assessing.

The Paul Strickland Scanner Centre (PSSC) at Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Radiologist while we recruit for a substantive post. The Centre boasts state-of-the-art equipment, including a Dual Source/Dual Energy CT scanner (Siemens), three MRI scanners (1.5T Siemens), two PET-CT scanners (4 and 64 multi-detector configurations), and a Sectra PACS/RIS system.
