Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated individual to start work as soon as possible as a Locum Consultant in the Urology department to support our growing demand for urological services for our local population. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and expanding team of individuals devoted to providing the very best care for our patients. The trust has ambitious plans to rebuild the Watford site and also build a dedicated Urology Centre housing out-patient clinics, diagnostic and administrative support services, providing state-of-the-art facilities for both staff and patients.

We are keen to develop our existing renal and robotic surgery service having acquired both the CMR and Da Vinci robotic systems. Furthermore, we also need to develop our female and functional urology service., The post is designed to provide support to existing core urology services. A specialist interest in renal robotic surgery, or female and functional urology is an advantage, but not essential. The successful candidate will partake in a 1 in 7 Consultant of the week rota and the usual elective commitments are cancelled. There is 24-hour middle grade support. You would need to be committed to driving day case surgery where possible and be committed to improving the service that is delivered. You will be well supported by colleagues who work as part of a cohesive team and who will encourage opportunities to enter leadership roles.
