Full Job Description

Clinical
The Core Trainee will be supported by a team of 4 consultants in Paediatric Dentistry and 3 consultants in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Department, providing treatment for craniofacial and medically compromised children, in addition to those having attended through A&E with acute orofacial trauma or infection. Clinical services will be provided with a high level of expertise in diagnosis, treatment planning and management of the dental needs of children.
Teaching & Academic role
Participate in teaching opportunities within the department.
Develop research interests in their area of interest and expertise.
Managerial responsibilities
Participate in clinical governance meetings.
CPD, Audit & Clinical Governance
Participate in CPD activity for which financial support is available.
Initiate and undertake appropriate audits as required within the department.

A position for a locum Core Training Post in Paediatric Dentistry and Paediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is available. This post is for a full time (10 PAs) with 1 in 5 out of hours on call cover (1 night per week and 1 weekend every 5 weeks). The position is based at Alder Hey Children's Hospital for 1.00 WTE. It is the primary objective of this post is to service delivery and patient care for medically compromised children as part of a Team of Paediatric Dentists, Orthodontists and Maxillo-Facial Surgeons at AHFT.
