Full Job Description

The department is looking to recruit a full time (1WTE) Locum StR in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for an immediate start until end of September 2025. The department would consider a job share arrangement. The successful candidate(s) will be fully integrated into the departmental clinics and out-patient treatment lists as well as involvement with theatres, in-patients and on call., The role will contain routine attendance of new and follow up clinics for Oral & Maxillofacial patient care. There is a broad case mix of patients seen in the department (including cleft, orthognathic, salivary gland, TMJ, head and neck cancer oral medicine and dentoalveolar.) There is the opportunity to be present at multi-disciplinary meetings and clinics, including orthognathic, restorative, oral/orthodontic head and neck rapid referral clinics and CBCT.
Supervised general anaesthetic lists including treatment of impacted and ectopic teeth provides an excellent opportunity to improve hard and soft tissue surgical skills. Management of inpatients at SDH including access to the full range of Oral & Maxillofacial cases.
Some supervision and support for the DCTs on call during the working day will be provided., We continue to encourage and support our staff to participate in the seasonal respiratory vaccination programme in order to protect themselves, colleagues and their patients.
GETTING TO WORK
We offer parking on site at Salisbury District Hospital, a daily charge applies. We encourage our staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible, and our Trust is well connected through the bus services to the city centre and other areas.

If this job requires you to have DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment, you will be required to replay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed in instalments from your salary.
