Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Consultant to join our Transport, Infrastructure & Logistics Service Line. The Logistics Consultant will be responsible for executing logistics studies in the initial phases of projects, providing key insights and recommendations to clients, and supporting the logistics team leader in the successful execution of all logistics activities. To apply in-depth knowledge and specialist skills in leading and managing the delivery of a range of client projects across any of the following technical areas: construction logistics, logistics design, supply chain design, project cargo management, process optimization, and material transport. You'll be:

  • Participate/Lead one or multiple small project team(s), with support from a senior consultant, with the development and execution of logistics studies in the initial phases of projects. Tasks include gathering and analyzing data, identifying key logistics challenges and opportunities, coordinating activities, tracking and reporting on project delivery, developing recommendations, and client liaison.
  • Support the Logistics Practice Lead and Client to scope requirements, prepare proposals, and develop internal and external networks.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their logistics requirements and provide expert guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to business development activity, working with clients to understand their needs and form compelling proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal TIL Service Lines/Practices (Master Planning & Facilities, Ports & Marine, Land Transport) to develop and implement logistics solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations.
  • Contribute to logistics projects and assist other Land Transport & Logistics team members as required.
  • Compile logistics documentation as required, including Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documents; route studies; inbound/outbound logistics studies; modularization studies; packing and shipping specifications plans; procedures; and other studies as required.
  • Map, plan, and manage logistics systems and activities.
  • Work with construction teams on the development of schedules, site activities and methodologies.
  • Work with engineering to balance design priorities with logistics considerations.
  • Liaise with heavy lift and Logistics Master Service Agreement (MSA) Partners to shape and deploy 3PL support as required to service the needs of Worley Consulting/Worley's scope of work, creating innovative and dynamic solutions that safeguard Project schedule and save resources, time, and money.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in logistics processes and practices.
  • Represent Worley Consulting/Worley in Logistics meetings and seminars ensuring early engagement of logistics resource and understanding of logistics effect.
  • Participate in Worley Consulting/Worley logistics team meetings, and events.

    Degree qualified in a logistics/transportation/supply chain subject or with equivalent relevant and comprehensive experience in logistics/transportation/supply chain.
  • Professional qualification/certification in logistics/supply chain or working towards chartership with a relevant institute such as CILT.
  • 3 to 5 years minimum experience in senior logistics positions, with a proven track record of executing logistics studies and leading logistics teams, and with specific proficiency in logistics management.
  • Firm understanding of current global logistics, transportation issues and world affairs.
  • Good knowledge of world geographic boundaries, trade lanes and main logistics hubs.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from multiple sources to develop insights and recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (both up and down) at senior level both within Worley Consulting/Worley and to our clients and external providers.
  • Capability in developing business proposals for clients, by understanding client requirements and leveraging expertise from across a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Able to operate across multiple work fronts while assimilating and assessing many different sources of information, all under time pressure.
  • A collaborative style of working that fosters team work and innovation.
  • A self-starter, quickly able to identify lines of work and progress these without instruction.
  • Capable of delegating tasks as required (be that internal or external).
  • Effective compliance with Worley Consulting/Worley company policies and procedures relating to logistics management (including but not limited to, conduct, safety, compliance and ethics).
