A key member of the Supply Chain and Logistics team, the Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics operation. Reporting to Supply Chain and Logistics Director, this role involves managing the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods and materials. The objective of this role is to help define the future of logistics and materials planning and ensure the efficient movement of goods and materials, providing what is required in the right place, at the right time. Our UK Defence business is a Sovereign software and systems centre of excellence. As well as developing and supporting UK wide and internationally deployed multi-domain command and control systems, our work is critical to the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. - Collaborate with across multiple Business stakeholders in scoping and developing logistics capability. Support gathering requirements for warehousing needs so that it is correctly shaped to meet the future business need.
- Support the business in the generation of future logistics requirements and manage any resulting transition of current warehousing facility and processes as directed.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, working with colleagues to develop and execute agile logistics strategies to improve operational efficiency and meet KPIs and business performance requirements.
- Manage and oversee the entire logistics process, materials demand planning, asset management, transportation, and warehousing.
- Support Production Transformation Project ensuring that all elements of logistics are optimum as part of the S2C (Source to Consume) process, being accountable tor materials planning, warehouse management and transportation.
Proven experience in logistics management or supply chain management. - Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Proficient in SAP, logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
