Full Job Description

Ensure collection and delivery of goods, food, waste including clinical waste throughout the Trust is removed and disposed of following strict policy and standard operating practices over the 24/7 period Our team is responsible for replacing medical gas cylinders removing the empty ones in various areas of the Trust and ensuring safe transportation and storage procedures are followed We have daily Pharmacy, Pathology and various other stock/top up and collection runs to perform during the course of the working day, which may include handling blood and other sample products in sealed containers If successful at the shortlist stage you will be required as part of the interview process to take part in a practical assessment, short reading and writing test to assess your ability to read and retain information given to you The successful candidate will also need to undertake a driving assessment. You should also note that any offer of employment will be subject to the Trust terms and conditions along with the satisfactory completion of a driving assessment and you must complete a satisfactory driving assessment each year to retain your employment in this role

  • Ability to understand, absorb, write and comply with detailed procedures in English
  • Full Driving Licence with no more than 3 points
  • Able to work extra hours on occasions and provide reasonable flexibility in terms of hours worked, including Christmas, New Year & other Bank Holidays.

  • Previous experience of working with members of the public
  • Driving licence with categories C1 & D1
  • Actively seeks to develop their own knowledge, skills and ability
  • Previous experience of using a two way radio communication system

  • Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.

Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.
