Full Job Description

The Logistics Strategic Programmes Lead will hold responsibility for acting as the single point of contact between GME Logistics and the vehicle/component strategy & programmes teams during the early product creation phases, from up to gateway. This will involve co-ordinating the programme impact assessments ensuring alignment with stakeholders and adjacent departments and managing submissions into the vehicle/unit programme team at each gateway. Initially, projects will be focussed around the Wolverhampton and Halewood programmes, requiring travel to these sites as necessary. As a team with global responsibilities, we support hybrid working however, travel to any JLR site, UK or overseas, may be required.,

  • Act as the day-to-day contact in GME Logistics for all programme activity in the strategy phase
  • Engage GME technology teams and act as key interface to support decision making during creation of the initial manufacturing strategy
  • Capture all part complexity, type, sequencing assumptions and m3 data from Supply Chain and programme teams and summarise latest part fit point and packaging proposals. Confirm alignment with latest solution design intent
  • Prepare all Intra-Logistics strategic impact assessments for programme studies as requested by the Industrial Operations Strategy (IOS) team
  • Prepare all Intra-Logistics gateway submissions for the Industrial Operations Programme Delivery (IOPD) team from to gateways
  • Lead the lessons learnt process for each programme to ensure previous learning is embedded in all future programmes
  • Gather programme data and manage the solution design process, ensuring solutions are developed in a timely
  • Undertake any other work as directed by the line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

    Experience working within a major project or programme environment, with an understanding of key Intra-Logistics (In-Plant) inputs to a programme
  • Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes, including risks management
  • Credibility within the programme environment and ability to influence others
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation
