Full Job Description
As Support Technician within the Exceptions Team, you will operate as part of the logistics team responsible for the delivery of parts or components to produce Building Construction Product (BCP) machines, according to specified work orders. You work on exceptions and emergencies by responding to customers, recording information, investigating root causes and problem solving. You will utilise lean manufacturing tools and techniques while operating to customer defined "tact times" and production sequences. What you will do: As a Logistics Support Technician , you are accountable for but not limited to:
- Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions.
- Data entry into excel and various apps, provide analysis, investigate root causes.
- Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work
- Participate in product / process improvement dialogues as required
- Cover the Team Leader's role in their absence
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM) Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices
- Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, Sustainability
- Undertake training and further learning as required, examples include OTD inventory management training, Six Sigma lean training.

- Understanding of Logistics processes and IRA: Communicate across departments to ensure a smooth workflow. Proactively reviews daily operations to ensure production targets and forecasts are achieved. Evaluate process discrepancies to ensure inventory record accuracy.
- Information capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner
- Accuracy and attention to detail: Evaluates production methods and maintains focus, with team input, on promoting the continuous improvement of processes and products utilising lean, Six Sigma and drive innovation. What You May Have:
- Familiar with Glovia and able to investigate issues and process deviations through analysis. First Stage Interviews wc 18 November and on-site face to face interviews wc 25 November Pending the number of applications, the criteria for the position may be enhanced to facilitate shortlisting.
