Full Job Description

British Taekwondo is looking for a motivated individual with some sports development experience, to join our small operational team to drive and deliver Taekwondo development projects within the City of London. This varied and interesting role will support our development team and London based clubs to grow Taekwondo and physical activity in the region, particularly around areas of inequality.

The role will also support our strategic aims of club, coach, and membership growth. Reporting to our development manager, this role will work on how Taekwondo can address this growth and wider societal issues with a range of Taekwondo based support tools and activity projects. The role will also include leading the delivery of projects where necessary.

Purpose and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of projects that grow Taekwondo activity in the City of London. The primary responsibilities for this role will be:

  • To develop local Taekwondo sports development strategy - specifically for targeted work in selected London boroughs.


  • To gather insight on the needs of local Taekwondo clubs and communities and create initiatives and activity that drive participation and club growth.


  • Collaborate closely with local partners to align activity with the wider sports development plan for the city.


  • Collaborate with partners to maximise the potential use of club, community, and other facilities to facilitate taekwondo activity local community use and benefit.


  • To support marketing initiatives for new products and services.


  • To liaise with departmental colleagues, prepare for and report on progress of workstreams.


  • To support the day-to-day development plan, creating content and managing activity when needed


  • To deliver any other development and event related activity that is required from time to time, contributing to the success of the business., Please be advised, due to the expected high interest in this role, we will only be considering applications from those who have knowledge and experience of sports development projects, with priority given to those with more than 3 years previous experience of working in the sector.

    British Taekwondo is the National Governing Body for Olympic Taekwondo in Great Britain, serving a 600 strong club network across the United Kingdom. Our core business supports and regulates club activity, competition, and teams across the different disciplines of the Martial Art, Olympic & Paralympic combat sport and Non-contact Poomsae. British Taekwondo also works closely with GB Taekwondo, the high-performance arm responsible for Olympic & Paralympic programs.
