Full Job Description

Lunchtime Supervisor - Term Time Only Core Purpose: We are looking to recruit a Lunchtime Supervisor for 17.5 hours / 5 days per week to assist the catering staff and pastoral teams in the efficient and safe management of break and lunchtime periods at 1 and 2 Lister Street. The postholder is an essential member of the AUEA staff team to ensure the safety, welfare and general good conduct of students through appropriate application of the Academy's policies and procedures during the Break and Lunchtime periods, working alongside other staff in their normal roles, teaching and support staff on student supervision rota duty, catering and facilities staff. The duties will mainly but not necessarily involve working in the Restaurant (main dining area and 6th Form Coffee Bar) The UTC's success has been recognised nationally including the Secretary of State awarding an expansion in September 2023 to 800 students, and a new dedicated building with further STEM specialist facilities, including £350K simulation hospital. This underpins the impact of the UTC recognised by our Ofsted inspection with inspectors stating our specialist employer work and destinations are 'exemplary' with the UTC being Good with Outstanding feature. As well as our own outstanding facilities, our location next to our sponsor Aston University means that we can access resources, and teaching and learning spaces like no other school. (About Aston University Engineering Academy) AUEA is a highly diverse institution with learners and staff from all communities and backgrounds from across the West Midlands. We strongly welcome applicants from within our local communities with a passion to increase our young people's social mobility and future opportunities. There couldn't be a more exciting time to join our team As a valued member of AUEA we will offer:

  • A family-feel environment centered around the health and well-being of staff and students.
  • A designated Staff Benefits, training and Health Care package including a family day off per year.
  • Personalised CPD and Career development program
  • Opportunity for experience and development as part of our Armed Forces and Combined Cadet Force partnerships.
  • Visits with the Principal are welcome either virtually or in person. To book your place or for any further details please email the Principal's PA Amanda Naan via principalpa@auea.co.uk Closing date: 6th November 2024 Interviews: w/c 11th November 2024 AUEA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.K.
