Full Job Description
Milestone Infrastructure Limited is currently looking to recruit a Streetlighting LV Cable Jointer to work on our Street Lighting Contracts. As an LV Jointer you will be part of our Street Lighting team who are responsible for undertaking jointer works on UKPN network for the maintenance and repairing the street furniture across our street lighting contracts. There may be requirement to support other Milestone contracts when needed. As an LV Jointer you will:
- Be responsible for ensuring that the work is carried out in correct and safe manner, with Milestone Infrastructure's Safety Management System being adhered to at all times
- Be committed to the companies' policy on Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality issues.
- Be responsible for ensuring that all recording of all joints, cable positions and relevant paperwork is completed accurately
- Undertake jointing work in accordance with the distribution safety rules and the jointing manual
- Understand responsibilities and requirements associated with the individual tasks required of him and shown on task instruction
- Maintain health and safety in and around site for operatives and the public
- Be responsible for removing any hazardous materials generated by the jointing process and keeping the site generally free from rubbish
- Maintain the jointing manual with any updates or safety bullets issued by your Line Manager
- Ensure that qualifications and certificates remain current and up to date
- Clean and maintain all electrical test equipment and observe calibration dates
- Ensure that all risk assessments are fully understood and implemented correctly to the individual tasks We expect the right candidate to:
- Have been assessed and authorised by Milestone Infrastructure's Assessing officer
- Have copies of all certificates obtained
- Have an understanding of Utility plans
- Have first Aid training
- Have Manual Handling training
- Be responsible for maintaining tools and equipment
- Provide leadership to support person
- Hold a Ners Passport
