You will be providing expert knowledge and clinical oversight to our colleagues and junior nursing team to provide expert care and be passionate about role modelling and teaching evidence-based care whilst treating also caring for your own case load.
As our expert Lymphoedema Nurse Specialist you will be working with many different teams and professions sharing your knowledge and learning from others.

This one-time financial incentive reflects the organization's commitment to attracting and retaining highly qualified and experienced individuals in this leadership role within Whittington Health community Services in Haringey and Islington., + Work autonomously managing own caseload and nurse led community clinics.
+ Assess patients referred to the Lymphoedema service holistically, using a range of different assessment methods and reach valid, reliable, and comprehensive patient centred conclusions, which manage risk and are appropriate to their need, context, culture, and ethnicity.
+ Plan, deliver and evaluate programmes of care for patients referred to the Lymphoedema service in conjunction with referrer.
+ Provide clinical advice in accordance with current evidence and best practice guidelines
MANAGERIAL
+ Directly manage the Lymphoedema team and service, completing appraisals and PDP for all team members including administration staff. providing support and guidance in professional development.
+ Monitor and manage sickness and absence in accordance with Whittington Health guidelines.
+ Manage referrals and priorities in accordance with referrer's information, ensuring we achieve waiting time targets.
+ To collect, collate and report on service activities including outcomes data.
Although comprehensive, the duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description are not definitive and you may be required to perform other duties at the request of the Manager for lymphoedema, leg ulcer and Tissue Viability services.

+ To promote and deliver advanced nursing practice in relation to planning and delivery of individualised patient care based on best practice in all aspects of lymphoedema.
+ To ensure that all advice provided is evidence based and in line with Trust, Lymphoedema service and national policies and guidelines.
+ To provide and promote clear, concise, and specific documentation in relation to Lymphoedema issues, using Rio.
+ Provide accurate, concise written and verbal information to all stakeholders.
+ To support district and community nursing teams, practice nurses and others in the Trust with the implementation of cellulitis guidelines, enabling them to initiate appropriate local treatments.
+ To participate in Lymphoedema interest groups.
+ To be accountable for one's own professional practice and professional development and ensure registration and compliance with the NMC and the Code of Professional Conduct, and actively participate in clinical supervision.
+ To manage a lymphoedema service that will work closely with the leg ulcer clinic as follows:
+ Supporting lymphoedema patients within the leg ulcer clinic caseload.
+ Supporting lymphoedema linked nurses and other nurses within the leg ulcer clinic team that will cover the lymphoedema service during staff shortages.
+ Supporting lower limb pathway within leg ulcer and lymphoedema services., + To be pro-active in creating and promoting a supportive learning environment that embraces a culture of evidence and research-based practice.
+ To plan the development, co-ordination and delivery of practice-based education and training in a variety of settings to different disciplines and levels of staff to facilitate the implementation of best practice.
+ To monitor staff's learning needs in relation to Lymphoedema/chronic oedema and develop, a programme of education and skill development to meet identified needs.
+ To facilitate the development of lymphoedema study.
+ To maintain effective links between practice, management, and education.
+ To develop a Lymphoedema Link Nurse system.
+ To participate in mandatory training and service training programmes, and clinical supervision.
+ Develop effective communication networks with other health professionals across both primary and secondary care.
+ To promote patient/carer independence through the provision of relevant teaching and support.
RESEARCH AND AUDIT
+ To co-ordinate and undertake clinical audit and research projects.
+ To facilitate the implementation of clinical governance through the implementation of evidence/research-based guidelines, education, and audit.
+ Facilitate the dissemination of appropriate research findings to the clinicians within the Trust.
MANAGERIAL
