Full Job Description

Responsible for basic chemical cleaning of Titanium Aerospace parts, utilizing acid etching and other chemicals, which includes but not limited to Chem-Brite, Flash Etch, Swab Etch, Alkaline Clean, Strip and Mask Prep.

This is a WEEKEND SHIFT : Friday-Sunday 4 : 00 PM - 4 : 00 AM

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs Chem-Brite, Flash Etch, Strip, Alkaline Clean and swab process of any part.

  • Willingness and ability to perform Grit Blast and Mask assignments as backups.

  • Checks all work to assure that quality standards are maintained and has adhered to all specifications and procedures involving company and customer practices.

  • Loads and unloads parts, operates forklift and overhead crane to move parts as required.

  • Maintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.

  • Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.

  • Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government.


  • Ensure subordinate staff is aware of the policy and their individual responsibility and accountability for complying with it.
  • Participate in 5S and perform daily Autonomous Maintenance (AM).

  • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

    High School diploma or GED

  • 6+ months Machining Experience

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be able to read blue prints, schematics and diagrams.

  • Must have the ability to be certified to operate forklift.

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and / or SSA requirements., GKN Experience

  • Experience working around Chemicals

  • Knowledge and experience in trouble shooting of safety, quality and technical issues with co-workers, quality and engineering functions.


  • Must be willing to work in a repetitive production environment with concern for meeting cost, quality and schedule requirements.

    The ability to work as a team player as well as independently is required.

    Mental and Physical Demands
  • Basic Math skills

  • Basic computer and / or ERP terminal skills

  • Correct usage of quality instruments for use in Chemical Machining

  • Manual dexterity

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Lift up to 50 pounds

  • Withstand loud noise of a machine shop environment

  • Must be able to wear full encapsulating / air fed body suit when required.
