Full Job Description

Acute Oncology is a fast growing and dynamic trust service which meets the needs of the acutely unwell cancer patient.

Exciting opportunities have arisen to extend the team.

The Macmillan Acute Oncology Physiotherapy Technician will be an integral member of the Acute Oncology team, providing prompt assessment and rehabilitation treatment of therapeutic treatments to patients. The post holder will take responsibility for designated elements of the patient treatment pathway protocols and delivery of such treatments from hospital to patients own home. The post holder will act as a technical resource in relation to the provision of mobility equipment, document, evaluate and liaise with qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists following interventions., To be an integral member of the Acute Oncology team, providing prompt assessment and rehabilitation treatment of therapeutic treatments to patients.

To take responsibility for designated elements of the patient treatment pathway protocols and delivery of such treatments from hospital to patients own home.

To act as a technical resource in relation to the provision of mobility equipment.

To document, evaluate and liaise with qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists following interventions.

To be responsible for the completion and potential delegation of non-clinical tasks within the Acute Oncology and wider Therapy teams.

The post holder will have the ability to work on their own initiative and equally within a team. You will have the ability to work under pressure, be well organized, demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team. The acute oncology team provides a seven day service so a flexible approach to the needs of the service is required.
