Full Job Description

This post will provide a comprehensive specialist service to clients with benign breast disease, women undergoing breast screening and patients with breast cancer. They will act as an expert and resource for members of the multi-disciplinary team, providing clinical leadership within this area of care, developing specialist education and supporting research relevant to the speciality. The post holder will act as the key worker and liaise with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible specialist care for their patients The post holder will support the nursing lead to develop the breast services, adhering to the NICE guidance and the 10 key roles for Nursing and Midwifery.,

  • Provide and receive, sensitive, highly complex or contentious information and barriers to understanding.
  • Facilitate communication, which results in clear responsibilities being identified within the multi-professional team
  • Communicate highly sensitive condition related information to patients, relatives providing empathy and reassurance
  • To co-ordinate the patients journey, acting as a key worker.
  • Exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers requiring tact and diplomacy.
  • Under the guidance of the leads you will assist in the assessment of needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and reflect the Trusts policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
