Full Job Description

Barts Health requires an Deputy Lead Cancer Nurse to work as part of the Corporate Nursing Team across all four hospitals in the BH Group of hospitals. This a new role to support the Director of Cancer and Palliative Care Nursing while leading on the specialist palliative care nursing agenda. The role will also encompass cancer patient experience and patient and public involvement.Each of the four hospitals in the Group has a specialist palliative care team and Whipps Cross Hospital also has the Margaret Centre for inpatient palliative care. There are close links with the Education Academy and City University., The successful candidate will have a successful track record in leadership and in the specialist area. They will be able to work at a strategic level to influence and support palliative and end of life care while ensuring that practice remains current and leading any changes. There will also be a focus on wider education and audit.

The role will be based at the Royal London Hospital but the post holder will be expected to have a presence in all the hospitals. Therefore, an ability to time manage and work to deadlines is essential and to collaborate with a wide range of staff from all disciplines.
