Macmillan Urology Cancer CNS

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join the Macmillan urology cancer nursing team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist. Serving a population of over 930,000 the Trust's cancer activity is comparable to designated cancer centres, so if you thrive on a challenge and feel you can make a real difference to the care of cancer patients, this post maybe for you. As a Urology Cancer CNS you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring that patients with prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular malignancies receive the highest standard of care and support from the time of diagnosis and throughout the cancer pathway. Working in partnership with our specialist cancer providers you will manage these patients across the pathways of care., We promote the wellbeing and safety of all our patients and carers by acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately, according to the standards determined by our policy and procedures. All posts working with vulnerable groups will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check upon appointment and staff will need to give their consent for the Trust to receive regular updates on their criminal records status throughout their employment. You will be required to have significant experience in this field of urology cancer nursing. We require someone who can work both autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills being essential. You must have RGN level 1 with appropriate post registration qualification and post registration experience. You should have a first degree or be working towards this qualification. With a drive for innovation, as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in developing nursing practice, in particular implementing service redesign in order to support the survivorship and rehabilitative aspect of cancer care as appropriate to the patient group.
