The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. aAh! - Manchester Metropolitan University's student magazine is on the lookout for a talented, driven, and creative individual to take the reins of our social media platforms and steer them towards success. Your Role: As a member of our growing Social Media team, your primary responsibility will be to lead, improve, and oversee high-quality social media output, ensuring we connect with a wide audience. What You'll Be Doing: Combining marketing and social media management skills, you will architect and enhance the magazine's social media presence. Your duties will include interacting with readers, promoting opportunities to potential contributors, sharing online and print articles ensuring they reach a wide readership target audience, and creating interactive and engaging content to grow the aAh! platform. You will work closely with volunteer social media marketers and editorial team members to create innovative content and campaigns. In addition to this, you will be leading recruitment and promotional campaigns, specifically targeting the student community at Manchester Met and beyond. We are looking for a talented individual who can work collaboratively, enthusiastically, and passionately with members of the aAh! student editorial team to ensure the ongoing success of our online and print publication., Manchester Metropolitan University is committed to supporting the rights, responsibilities, dignity, health and wellbeing of staff and students through our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students with:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in order to deliver objectives.
  • Ability to use initiative, creativity and judgement.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Good working knowledge of a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Good working knowledge of social media scheduling platforms
  • Previous social media marketing experience
