We are looking for people whom are passionate, results driven, really care about what they do and can have a little fun along the way! In return you will have an opportunity to gain a professionally recognised qualification in a challenging and rewarding profession, and earn a decent salary from the off. We have a small but very experienced team of Mechanical Engineers, whom respond to the specialist needs of our customers/clinical colleagues in terms of mechanical engineering problems. Your passion for making things will be turned into practical experience in an exciting live environment where you will have the opportunity to learn and develop all of the key skills required to start your career in mechanical engineering within a large University Hospital.,

  • Development/Assembly of mechanical fixtures and fittings for medical applications.
  • Work within an accredited Quality Management system
  • Servicing and Repair of mechanical medical devices
  • Support medical device research and innovation
  • Records management
  • Training and development
  • Any other duties as required within the scope of the position

We will be delighted to take applications for those recently out of school or also out of a recently completed college course, in a related discipline. Current level of experience and qualifications will determine which NHS pay band the chosen candidate will start on, which will be either band 2 or band 3. The key requirement is passion and enthusiasm.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030). We have four primary goals:
  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence
  • And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities. Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team
  • This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
