Full Job Description

To assist with the provision of an efficient and cost-effective maintenance and repair service to all properties owned or leased by the Trust.

To undertake such tasks outside of core skills (within the competence of the post holder) to meet service needs as required.

To assist other trades and contractors, in accordance with service need.

To ensure that work is undertaken at all times in accordance with health and Safety requirements to ensure the environment remains safe for patients, staff, contractors and visitors to the Trust.

To show commitment to and participate in quality improvement activities.

To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities.

To promote at all times a positive image of the Estates Department and the wider Trust., The Estates Department is responsible for the repair, maintenance and management of all Building Services within the Trust.

An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, self-motivated Maintenance Assistants (Engineering) with a background preferably gained in a building services environment.

The successful candidate will assist the estates team in providing a comprehensive engineering maintenance service to include all aspects of planned and routine maintenance, installation and repair/replacement work on a wide range of building structures. The successful candidates will ideally have previous experience in and understanding of plumbing, mechanical or electrical disciplines in a building services environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to work under the Trust values and behaviours at all times and will need to be flexible and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team with good organisational skills to be able to prioritise competing demands.

You will be joining a very busy, motivated and multiskilled estates team based at Cross Lane Hospital.
