Full Job Description

We are looking to offer a Maintenance Controller the opportunity to join our expanding Transport Operations Compliance team based in Exeter, Devon. About the team Our team has grown rapidly and we are responsible for the supply and management of specialist equipment and vehicles, supplying the Water, Energy, Transport, Data and Telecommunication sectors. About the role You will be responsible for all operator licensed & commercial vehicles within your regional area. The role is critical to ensuring the fleet is compliant, legal and maintained to the highest standards at all times. Hybrid and flexible working are available with this role. There is also an opportunity to qualify as a Transport Manager via an apprenticeship.,

  • Monitor all maintenance activities of commercial vehicles in line with Operator License Legal Undertakings, DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness & M Group Transport Operations Policy's.
  • Build a cohesive working relationship with commercial drivers, Operational and Transport Managers to ensure full compliance of commercial vehicles.
  • Ensure all commercial vehicle maintenance & driver related documentation is stored on the fleet management system (Asset Go), exception reports are actioned and updated.
  • Liaise daily with internal & external maintenance providers and ensuring maintenance is completed on time and vehicles returned
  • Assist your Line Manager with transition of any new business units to M Group Services. Providing support at internal and external meetings, audits, or department team briefings

    Demonstrate a basic understanding of Operator License compliance
  • Capable of taking ownership & responsibility, demonstrated though actions/ behaviours.
  • You must have a category B Driving License and be prepared to attend training as required to ensure continued development.
  • IT literate and able to demonstrate your experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Fleet management systems would be beneficial. Have accuracy when inputting data.
  • You must be customer focused, have excellent communication skills, and be committed to deliver high standards of customer service.
